What treatment costs
Every price on this page is a starting figure for a straightforward case, and you get a fixed fee in writing before anything is booked. Nearly every practice in Essex makes you ring up and ask. This is the alternative.
Full price list
Every figure below is a starting price for a straightforward case. What your own case costs is settled at the consultation and given to you in writing as a fixed fee.
| Treatment | Price from | What that covers |
|---|---|---|
| Consultation | £80 per appointment | A proper look, an honest opinion and a written quote to take away. No deposit and no obligation to book. |
| Composite bonding | £250 per tooth | One visit, no drilling in most cases. Priced per tooth, and four or six upper front teeth is the usual request. |
| Teeth whitening | £299 both arches | Custom trays and a full course of professional-strength gel, used at home over two to three weeks. |
| Clear aligners | £2,500 upper and lower | Includes the scan, every aligner, all appointments and your first set of retainers. |
| Porcelain veneers | £700 per tooth | Laboratory-made and individually shaded, over two visits about three weeks apart. |
| Crowns and bridges | £700 per unit | e.max or zirconia, chosen to suit the tooth. Priced per unit, so a three-unit bridge is three times the figure. |
Complex cases cost more and I will say so at the consultation rather than after starting. If a cheaper treatment would get you most of the way to what you want, I will tell you that too.
Treatment can be spread over 6 to 12 months at 0% interest, subject to an affordability check. The total is the same as paying up front.
Get a written quoteQuestions about paying for treatment
Is the price I am quoted the price I pay?
Yes. You get a fixed fee in writing for the plan we agreed, before anything is booked. If treatment turns out to need something we did not discuss, I tell you before doing it, not afterwards on the invoice.
How does the 0% finance work?
Treatment is spread over 6 to 12 months at 0% interest, subject to a straightforward affordability check. The total is identical to paying up front, so there is no premium for spreading it and no cost for asking.
Do I pay anything at the consultation?
The consultation itself is £80, payable on the day. Nothing else: no deposit is taken and there is no obligation to book treatment. You leave with a written quote and decide in your own time.
Why are your prices published when nobody else's are?
Because being made to ring up and ask is the most common complaint I hear about cosmetic dentistry. If a price is reasonable it survives being written down. You can compare before you spend an afternoon on consultations.
Can I have any of this on the NHS?
Crowns and bridges yes, where there is clinical need, at the Band 3 charge of around £330. Whitening, veneers, bonding for appearance and adult aligners are not available on the NHS for cosmetic reasons.
What if I need more than one treatment?
Common, and the order matters. Aligners before bonding, whitening before anything that cannot be whitened. A combined plan is quoted as one fixed fee, usually less than the individual prices added together.
Still have a question?
Ask it at your consultation, or ring the practice and ask for Dr Akhalwaya.
